[KOREA TRIP 2016] Gyeongbokgung Palace (경복궁) + VLOG

Hello there ~ Today I came to continue my travel diary about my trip to Seoul, South Korea. On the 5th day we headed towards Myeongdong for some crazy shopping. Check out my Korea Trip haul if you haven't seen it already.

A Twosome Place, Myeongdong

While shopping we also had to eat so we stopped by A Twosome Place for some coffee and ciabattas. After spending all our money - lol just kidding - we headed to Gyeongbokgung Palace and Krisse had booked a free, local guide for us to tell more about the palace. It was a really hot day and carrying all the shopping bags, cameras and all other stuff wasn't that good idea :'Dd I also succeeded in burning my shoulders for the first time in my life ! FYI I'm the kind who tans pretty fast - only if I'm actually outside in the sun LOL - and doesn't burn easily.

We arrived just in time to see the Royal Guard Changing Ceremony. It was pretty nice to see. I really like their clothing ~ I filmed a video about that so make sure you read the post until the end :) Despite the fact that we had the guide I don't really remember anything she said about the history and the buildings... I remember only bits from here and there as I was too focused on looking around and taking photos :D I'm sorry ~

After the guide left we continued our tour and got the attention of some Korean middle school students who wanted to take photos with us. They also asked some questions and explained where in Korea they are from and so on. They were so adorable with their really good English conversational skills ~ I unfortunately don't have the photos because they took the pics with their phones :'Ddd

There also was a cute, small cafe in the palace area. I think I had an ice americano but as I drink my coffee with milk or cream and sugar I didn't like it. It was so bitter and they didn't have any cream or milk there. So I ended up leaving 50% of the coffee untouched. At least the coffee looks pretty in the photo so money well spent... For those who wants real coffee in Seoul, make sure you check out the cafe inside Gyeongbokgung Palace :)

On our way back "home" from the palace we were really hungry - as we hadn't eaten anything since the cafe in Myeongdong. Reason for this is because our homestay family wanted to feed us with some Korean food as it was our last night at their house. On the next day we moved to a hostel in Hongdae and that is what I'll be telling you guys in the next part :)
