[KOREA TRIP 2016] Bucheon Natural Ecological Park (부천 자연상태 공원)

Hi there ~

Today I'm here to tell you guys how the 3rd day of my trip to South Korea went. Click here to read the previous posts. As we had pretty hectic first two days we decided to be lazy on our third day. We had slept like 4 hours which is like a nap for a person like me who sleeps at least 8 hours every night. During the breakfast at 7.30 AM (again...) we chatted with a girl from Germany and asked if there's anything interesting on the area near our home-stay in Bucheon. She mentioned about this park nearby and we decided to check it out.

We took a nap after the breakfast and woke up at 4PM - and still jet-lagged ! After a good nap we headed out with our umbrellas - it was supposed to start raining at any moment. We walked about two kilometers and found the Bucheon Natural Ecological Park. It's pretty easy to find as it's really close to the Kkachiul Subway Station (exit 5). Oh - the entrance to the park is free ! There is also a museum but it was already closed when we were visiting the park.

This is how the parking lot and the entrance to the park looks like. It's easy to spot when you're walking from the Kkachiul station. Can I just say how cute the flower pots are?

Here you can see the map of the whole park as well as some services they have in the park. In Finland you'd most likely have to pay at least 15 € to enter a park like this ! In Bucheon however - FREE ! Oh and there also were free public toilets ! Another thing that Finland doesn't have that much...

A tourist has to take tourist-like photos !
I really love these pavilions or whatever they are called ^^

And more tourist photos !
Big thanks to Krisse who took these so I have at least few photos that aren't selfies...

I zoomed to the max ! If I'm not wrong that's the famous Namsan Tower (N Seoul Tower) you see on top of the mountain. Correct me if I'm wrong :D

There also was this small "zoo" meant for kids to get to know animals. There were various animals inside cages. Different chicken breeds, turkeys, peacocks and many kind of other birds, bunnies, some kind of goats and couple deers (!!) as well. I somehow felt really bad for the animals - especially for those with 4 feet - who didn't have enough space.

In Finland they would've basically been in wild with grass under their feet with just fences around to keep them safe from the wild beasts and traffic.

After spending few hours in the park walking and taking photos we got hungry. We were originally thinking of going to the convenience store at the subway station and buy some food but as soon as we saw this local restaurant we just went inside. It was pretty much across the road and the food was so good and super cheap.

We entered the restaurant and ordered with our limited hangul by pointing the photos on the menu. Very tourist-like ^^ I had vegetable bibimbap (비빔밥; mixed rice) and tofu doenjang jjigae (된장찌개; soybean paste stew) and Krisse had samgyetang (삼계탕; ginseng chicken soup). We also got various banchan (반찬; side dishes) for free. There were few kinds of kimchi, garlic and chili.

After this we headed back "home" with our tummies filled with food to the point I didn't even want to do anything. I think I just washed my face and slept immediately...?
